Yerushalem has lived a life with many chapters. As a boy in Israel, he often missed school to help out in the family-owned restaurant. At 18, and because it was compulsory, he joined the army. His skill and aptitude for marksmanship enabled Yerushalem to climb the ranks, proudly reaching Staff private first class by the end of his service. Enticed by the American dream, Yerushalem risked everything and came to America. Homeless for seven years, he found short term work in many fields. He was a brick layer, a line cook, drawing on his experience in his family’s restaurant and a maintenance engineer at a community college to name just a few. In his current chapter, Yerushalem has discovered a beautiful passion for the saxophone. Even though self-taught, he has received much recognition. Currently he works part time at the Groove Lounge on 7th.
